BOTOX® Cosmetics / Dysport

BOTOX® Cosmetics / Dysport is the approved treatment to improve the appearance of moderate to severe Frown lines between the brows and Crow’s feet lines in adults.
BOTOX® Cosmetics is one of the most extensively studied medical aesthetic treatments and continues to be a leader in its category as it carries 28 indications worldwide with approval for use in 100 different countries.
Today, BOTOX®Cosmetic is the #1 selling product of its kind in the world.

BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. Your aesthetics specialist will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity.

BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the skin’s surface and targets the underlying muscle activity that causes frown lines and crow’s feet. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow’s feet lines and frown lines between your brows.

Juvederm Voluma® XC

Made by the same people who brought us Botox, Juvederm Voluma XC primarily comprises Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a type of sugar that naturally occurs in our bodies and gives our skin moisture, volume, and elasticity. One characteristic of HA is that it gets depleted with age, causing the skin to lose volume which results in wrinkles and fine lines. When injected into the skin, HA helps to absorb water into the skin, plumping the area into which it’s injected.

Restylane Lyft also uses HA as the primary active ingredient. The difference though is that, unlike Juvederm Voluma XC, Restylane Lyft isn’t considered a skin “filler.” Instead, it’s called a skin booster because it helps “boost” the skin from within. And, it can be used on just about anyone!
When used as directed by a professional, results include but are not limited to; reduced wrinkle depth, removal of fine lines, and increased volume around the cheeks.

Restylane® Kysse

Was exclusively designed for the lips. Unlike other Restylane® products, Restylane® Kysse is solely designed to be used in the lips and lip lines. Every component of the injection aids in creating pillowy, softer lips, which is what makes Restylane® Kysse unique from the rest of the Restylane® dermal filler family. In addition pesky radial wrinkles around the lips can be erased with this new filler.A smaller amount of filler is required to get results.

Restylane® Kysse uses a smaller amount of filler formula than other Restylane® products to achieve results. While the lips require less formula than, say, the midfacial region, clinical trials have shown that Kysse required less formula to achieve fuller lips than other fillers.

FAQ

What Should I Expect with Treatment?

You may begin to notice results within 72hours for moderate to severe frown lines, with results lasting up to 4 months. Your specialist may use ice to numb the treatment area. If you are concerned about discomfort, your specialist may apply a topical numbing cream before administering your treatment. Your specialist will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.

Botox and Dysport are often used interchangeably because of their similarities. However, Botox is manufactured by Allergan- a company that exclusively serves the U.S market. Dysport had been popularly used in Europe even before the FDA approved it for local use in 2009.
Dysport is more diluted than Botox. The difference in concentration typically occurs because Dysport uses smaller protein molecules to induce muscle relaxation. These smaller proteins are less likely to be broken down by antibodies, making the results of Dysport injections quite desirable for patients.

In most cases, Dysport and Botox can be used to treat the same cosmetic conditions. They have the same active ingredient, safety profiles, and working mechanism. Because they’re both injectable (and minimally invasive) muscle-relaxing agents, the differences that apply are quite few and far between.
